Our Donations Program-Spreading the Love of God and Jesus Christ
Welcome to yourbrotherglenn.org, where we are spreading the
Word of God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, and the Holy Bible throughout all
the world for all to see.
Introduction:
Our entire Donations Program is dictated and controlled by
one short statement Jesus made to his twelve disciples as he was commissioning
them into their Apostleship and sending them out to preach. This is found in
Matthew 10:7-8 where he said to them,
7 “And as you go,
preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
8 “Heal the sick, raise
the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely
give.”
Jesus was telling them that they have been blessed by God
and not to just keep those blessings or hoard them to themselves, but to go out
and freely give them away to others. And so it is for us today.
We oftentimes get questions from some of our readers and
prospective donors, such as “What happens to my Donations?” or “What are my
Donations used for?” or “Where do my Denotation funds go to?” or “I can only
afford to donate 1 Dollar. Will my small Donation even make a difference? These
are all very proper and appropriate questions to ask. In this page, I will try
to answer those questions in a way that will both reassure you, and leave you
feeling safe and confident when you submit your donations.
What happens to my Donations?
Our Donations are managed through a company called
“GiveButter.com.” When you submit a donation on this site, your funds go
directly into a holding account at GiveButter.com. You will receive an email
receipt for your donation for your Taxes or Financial Records. These funds will
remain there, accruing Interest, until we need to distribute the funds to a
charitable organization of cause. None of your donations are ever used for
personal use by anyone in yourbrotherglenn.org. Try to imagine the account a
one large revolving door: The donations come in from donors such as yourself,
they are held in a secure account where they accumulate, and then those funds
are sent out, as needed, to charitable organizations or causes throughout the
world.
What are my Donations used for?
Your Donations are used to help pay for our operating
expenses. Without them, we would not be able to continue operating. They also
help in the growth and expansion of this Organization and website as a whole.
We also have a variety of Outreach Programs targeted to specific groups within
our audience. Examples include: Young Adults, Women, the Homeless, Animal
Shelters, the Elderly, and the Disabled. Your Donations help fund these
programs and others. Without sufficient Donations, we would not be able to
provide these services. What does this mean? It means that your Donations,
no matter how large or small, are vital to the success of these
services.
Where do my Donation funds go to?
The shortest, yet most complete, answer to this question
is: Your Donations go to wherever they are most needed at any given time.
The world situation can change drastically from one day to the next. These
changes dictate where your Donations are most needed. No matter where
your Donations are needed, you can know that you are making a positive
difference in the lives of others.
I can only afford to donate 1 Dollar. Will my
small Donation even make a difference?
The resounding answer to this question is: YES!!
Even the smallest of Donations WILL make a difference! Why do I say
this? Consider these two examples:
A) Consider the very huge and monumental Pyramids in the
desserts of Egypt. Looking from a distance, all we see are these enormous
structures we call the Pyramids. However, if we were to get much closer to them
for a closer look, we would see that they consist on many thousands of smaller
carved rock blocks which are fitted, framed, and stacked upon on another.
Without all of these smaller blocks, there would be no Pyramid at all. Or if
some of them were missing and omitted, the whole structure would eventually
just collapse upon itself. So it is with your “small” donations. Each and every
one of them are vital to the finished product, which is the success of our
overall mission on yourbrotherglenn.org.
B) This example comes straight out of the Bible. It is a
story of a poor old widow living in utter poverty giving her offering unto the
Lord. It is found in the Gospel of Luke 21:1-4:
1 Looking up, He [Jesus]
saw the rich people putting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And He [Jesus] saw a
poor widow putting in two small copper coins.
3 He [Jesus] said,
“Truly I say to you, this poor widow has put in [proportionally] more than all
of them;
4 for they all put in
gifts from their abundance; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to
live on.”
There you have it, my friends. Jesus made it very clear
that it wasn’t the amount of the gifts which were important; but it was
the willingness of the person giving the gifts to give all they could.
So, NEVER think that even the smallest of your Donations don’t matter or
count. They DO. At yourbrotherglenn.org, we treat every Donation, large or
small, with an equal amount of appreciation. Make your Donation today!
